  1. Being a student in America, I've seen so much news about school shootings. In school instead of practicing how to escape from natural disasters, we have situations where we train for if someone with a gun comes into the school. There should be no need to teach children how to act when a school shooting happens. Just…. Thank you for making this video.

  2. I'm in American high school right now, this semester we had a active shooter drill at my homeroom. We had to watch a video telling us to flee, hide, fight. Scary shit man.

  3. I am a parent of a high school student in the United States and I am both terrified and livid. I voted against everything our president represents. I have developed hypertension from the stress of fearing for my son's life and our country. The current situation in America is terrible and I am scared. I will continue to vote against our president and all his cronies. Guns must heavily regulated for us to be safe.

  4. So much rationality and common sense, but sadly you only have to go on twitter to see the mentality of a lot of pro guns people. So selfish “I want a gun, I want a gun” and fuck the rest of the people around me, because I need to protect myself against all the people…….. with…… GUNS.

  5. I think it is really hard to remove something that gave power to individuals all at once, so I think it will take time, but we need to slowly shape the law in US to make the country more safe and stop these horrible things to happen to innocent people. I would love to stop all these things to happen and just end everything that will possibly connect to another problem like these, but it's really hard to just come up with the compromise that will satisfy when there are people with far opposite opinion…. which is really frustrating.. Also, governments.. idk what they are talking about. They are just blinded by their strong believes and not looking at the facts. They are looking for something to blame when they cannot really blame the thing that was actually the problem.

  6. Intruder drills are such an integrated part of the school system I was honestly shocked at first that Japan doesnt have them. I then remembered that Japan and some other countries have pretty strict gun laws with background checks and tests and everything. And to absolutely no one's surprise the rate of murders went way the fuck down!! Who would have guessed wow amazing?? Anyway I'm glad to see you talking about this stuff. Living here really sucks unless you're a white rich dude but its good to see other people care about improvement in America!

  9. I’ve been involved in two lockdowns at school, when I was in high school. The first was a guy running around campus with a gun after robbing a bank to hide from the police. He eventually shot himself in the neighborhood nearby. The other was a bomb threat. After the first lockdown, I developed a mind set to look around each class to see where I can hide, how I can protect myself and others, and what I can throw if worse comes to worst. So I made a plan for every class and carried that through my college years as well. It sucked having to think about those kinds of things, but we never had drills so it made a little more comfortable to be somewhat prepared.

  11. I'm in college now but back when I was in High School, we had so many drills for if someone came on campus and we didn't really think much of it. It became normal. Most of the time we would hope the drill went on longer so we wouldn't have to continue with class. That's not okay and the next generation shouldn't have to deal with being so desensitized to the fear of violence or when something like a shooting happens. It shouldn't be a regular and the people in America who oppose gun laws don't realize that their views and them keeping us from having those regulations not only messed us up, but it ended in so many lives being taken from us. It should've ended with Columbine

  13. I want to like this 20^20^20 times. Thanks for talking about our shit. The problem is largely trump's generation, it seems (hopefully… oh god hopefully…). We also need to quit this completely bipartisan bullshit where it's one side vs the other – half of us want one thing, half of us want another, and it seems like no one knows the meaning of compromise anymore, so it all turns into vitriolic hatred and close-mindedness. There was actually a documentary on how violent media doesn't lead to more violence, but more paranoia about violence, which leads to the idea of people who want to keep guns around: their thinking is "how can I protect 'muh freedoms'*TM if I can't have guns on me??!! What happens when those evil opposing side or people I don't like suddenly rise up and oppress me??!" Paranoia. Bullshit. People also cling to this antiquated concept of America as a frontier where we got by just fine with our gunz, and needed them to be tough, true blue 'mericans, and the idea of fighting off the oppressive British govt (I mean, we need our guns for the next time we have to have a revolution right??! Because obviously people are just looking for ways to oppress us). I think 9/11 led to a resurgence of this fearful and paranoid thinking. Hopefully our future generations, like the kids protesting in the aftermath, can have the sense to create a better future for themselves and their children, despite the fact that the same isn't being done for them. Please use logic and open-mindedness, and not fear and paranoia, to make laws and decisions, US… ugh this country.

  15. can i just say that i'm really glad that you made a video to talk about this? it's honestly so infuriating that nothing is being done to change the laws. this time was particularly hard hitting because i saw the entire thing unfold through the livetweets of one of my internet friends who goes there. those hours of not knowing whether she was safe were some of the most harrowing hours i've experienced. it really doesn't occur to you how fked up the situation is until it hits close to home. for years and years, we've been seeing shooting after shooting happening and we all immediately say "that's crazy, gun control now" but nothing ever really changes. this time, the youth are really taking it upon themselves to be heard (which is fantastic) but it sucks that a pathetic orange infantile excuse of a human being is deflecting all the real solutions to this problem.
