Battlefield 1’s monthly content updates are coming to an end this summer, says DICE content lead, Jonas Elfving.
The monthly updates bring new content, tweaks, and fixes to the game, but Elfving announced that they would continue on this schedule only up until June 2018.
He also announced the new Shock Operations mode, dropping in June. Described as “bite-sized epicness” the new mode is essentially the same as Operations, but plays out on a single map, making it shorter than a full Operations match.
The new mode will be playable on Giant’s Shadow, Prise de Tahure, Lupkow Pass, Zeebrugge, and River Somme. The maps will be accessible to all players during Shock Operations, but you’ll need a Battlefield 1 premium pass to access them across all modes.
